Concrete Driveways in the Chicagoland Area

A driveway is the largest piece of concrete most homes will ever have, and it is the first thing anyone sees from the street. We pour new driveways and replace tired, cracked and settled ones — from a single-car approach to a wide multi-car drive with a turnaround.

Every driveway starts the same way: we look at what is there now, talk through what you want, and give you a free, no-pressure estimate before anything is torn out.

What we cover

Concrete Driveways We Take On

  • New driveway installation
  • Tear-out and replacement of failed concrete
  • Aprons, approaches and garage transitions
  • Widening an existing drive or adding a parking pad
  • Curved and flared edges
  • Broom, smooth and exposed finishes

What makes the difference

  • Base preparation

Most driveway failures start underneath the concrete, not in it. Soft spots, poor compaction and trapped water will crack a slab no matter how good the pour is.

  • Jointing and layout

Control joints give concrete a planned place to crack. Spaced and cut correctly, they keep the slab looking deliberate instead of random.

  • Drainage and pitch

The slope is set before the pour. Water should run off the drive and away from the house and garage, every time it rains or thaws.

Serving the greater Chicagoland area

What a Chicagoland driveway is up against

Our winters are the hard part. Water works its way into concrete, freezes, expands and pushes the surface apart — and then de-icing salt accelerates the damage on anything that was not finished and cured properly. A driveway here is dealing with dozens of freeze-thaw cycles a season on top of the weight of the vehicles parked on it.

That is why the parts you cannot see matter most: a properly prepared and compacted base, the right slab thickness for what will park on it, control joints cut where the slab actually wants to move, and a finish that sheds water toward the street instead of back toward your garage. We walk through all of it on site, because the right answers depend on your grade, your soil and your drainage — not on a package price.
