Everything built on top of a slab depends on the slab. We pour foundations, footings and slabs on grade for garages, additions, outbuildings, sheds and equipment pads, as well as flatwork for small commercial properties.
This is the work where getting it square, level and to spec is the entire job. If you are working from plans, bring them to the estimate; if you are not, we will work out what the structure needs on site.

What makes the difference
Formed and braced properly
Forms carry real pressure during a pour. Bracing them correctly is what keeps an edge straight and a wall plumb.
Reinforcement to spec
Rebar and mesh are placed to suit the load and the plan, not added by habit.
Flat, level and square
A slab that is out of level by a little creates problems for every trade that follows. It gets checked before and during the pour.

Frost depth, soil and getting it level
Northern Illinois builds below the frost line for a reason: a footing that does not reach stable ground will be lifted by the first hard winter, and everything sitting on it moves with it. Local soils vary block to block too — the clay that holds water under one yard behaves nothing like the sand two streets over.
So the work starts before the concrete does, with excavation, forming and reinforcement set to what the structure and the permit actually require. Formwork is where a slab is won or lost: square, braced, and set to a consistent elevation, so what you get is flat, level and ready for whatever goes on top of it.
