Stamped & Decorative Concrete in the Chicagoland Area

Stamped concrete gives you the look of cut stone, slate or brick for less than the cost of laying the real thing — and with none of the joints for weeds to find. The pattern is pressed into the slab while it is still workable, so the texture is part of the concrete rather than something sitting on top of it.

It works on patios, walkways, front entries, pool decks and driveway borders. The most common choice is a stamped field with a contrasting banded border, which frames the space and hides where the slab meets everything else.

What we cover

Stamped & Decorative Concrete We Take On

  • Stamped patios, walkways and entries
  • Stone, slate, brick and plank patterns
  • Integral color and release accents
  • Decorative borders and banding on plain slabs
  • Decorative curved edges and transitions
  • Sealing after cure

What makes the difference

  • Pattern and color together

Color is chosen with the pattern, not after it. The two have to work with your brick, siding and roof — not against them.

  • Borders do the heavy lifting

A contrasting border around a stamped field is what makes the slab read as a designed surface instead of a textured one.

  • Plan for re-sealing

Sealer protects the color and the surface. Knowing the maintenance up front is part of deciding whether decorative is right for the space.

Choosing a pattern that still looks right in five years

Decorative work has to survive the same winters as everything else, so two choices matter more than the pattern itself. The first is texture: a deep, heavily textured stamp holds grit and shows wear differently than a subtle one, and a surface that will be walked on in boots and shoveled in January should not be slick. The second is sealer — decorative concrete needs re-sealing periodically to keep its color, and that is a maintenance commitment worth knowing about before you choose it.

We would rather talk you through all of that at the estimate than have you find out later. If the pattern you like is not the right call for where you want it, we will say so and show you an option that is.
